2024 SURVIVAL AT THE SHORE CHALLENGE RULES

REGISTRATION AND SELECTIONS

Monmouth Park Racetrack offer visitors to monmouthpark.com the chance to participate in MONMOUTH PARK RACETRACK’S “2024 SURVIVAL AT THE SHORE” CHALLENGE (CHALLENGE) during this year’s Thoroughbred season.

The CHALLENGE begins Saturday, May 25, 2024 and concludes at “official” of the last Monmouth Park live race Monday, September 2, 2024.

Players must register by 11:00 am Saturday, May 25, 2024. All returning players must "re-activate" and by doing so are accepting the 2024 CHALLENGE RULES by 11:00 am Saturday, May 25, 2024.

SCORING

The CHALLENGE is a FREE on-line contest. Participants are required to sign up via an email address, logon to the CHALLENGE, and select at least one entry only from each of three (3) races selected by the Challenge Commissioner. You do have to make a selection in all three (3) races.

Past Performances for each challenge race are available on the game page each day courtesy of Brisnet.

Players must make all selections personally. Participants are credited with a mythical $2.00 win (1st), place (2nd), and show (3rd) or “across-the-board” wager on each of their selections. The total mutual payouts according to the Equibase official race results will accrue to the participant’s mythical bankroll throughout the participant’s eligibility.

EXAMPLE, If:

1.      1. Your selection in CHALLENGE RACE #1 finishes 2nd, paying $5.60 to place and $3.10 to show.

2.      2. Your selection in CHALLENGE RACE #2 does not finish first, second, or third (off the board).

3.      3. Your selection in CHALLENGE RACE #3 finishes 3rd, paying $3.20 to show.

Your mythical bankroll will be credited or increased by $11.90 on that day: ($5.60 + $3.10 + $3.20).

The CHALLENGE scoring is based on pari-mutuel information as supplied by Equibase.

SCRATCH RULE

If your selection is scratched at anytime when the CHALLENGE is still open for selections, or “in play,” and you do not make another selection, or if your selection is scratched after the first contest race, you automatically receive the post-time (off-time) favorite in that race. If the post-time favorite is a coupled “entry,” you receive both or all three (3) horses in the entry and will be credited with the mutual payout accordingly.

COUPLED ENTRY RULE

When you select a coupled horse, or an “entry” (i.e. #1 & #1A or #2 & #2X), you are betting both horses in that “entry.” If one of the coupled horses is scratched, you remain on the other coupled horse and not the post-time favorite. If both or all three (3) horses in an “entry” are scratched, you will receive the post-time favorite.

SURVIVING

You “survive” the CHALLENGE until such day that none of your race selections finishes “in the money” (first, second or third), or you have no remaining life preservers.

SELECTION TIMES

All participant’s race selections must be made no less than thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of the first race of that day’s challenge. If post-time for the first CHALLENGE race is 12:50 pm, all your selections must be made by 12:20 am on the day’s program.

Remember, you can change your selections at any time prior to thirty (30) minutes to post-time of the first CHALLENGE race.

LIFE PRESERVER

Participants start the CHALLENGE with one (1) “life preserver.” The "life preserver" is a “free pass” automatically credited if a player does not enter selections for a particular contest day OR if all three (3) of the player’s selections fail to finish first, second or third. Players having used their "life preserver" will be eliminated when no selection in any race is recorded, or any one (1) of the chosen selections does not finish first, second or third, provided they have not earned additional "life preserver(s)."

Eliminated players may still be eligible for prizes at the end of the CHALLENGE based on their “virtual” bankroll at the time of their elimination. Eliminated players will be notified via email.

ADDITIONAL LIFE PRESERVERS

All players are issued one “life preserver” at the beginning of the CHALLENGE. Additional “life preservers” can be earned by remaining “active” in the CHALLENGE by these dates:

1.     .        All “active” players at the end of game play Sunday, July 7, 2024 will be issued one "life preserver" Monday, July 8, 2024.

2.     .        All “active” players at end of game play Monday, August 12,2024 will be issued one "life preserver" Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

STANDINGS

Check www.survivalatheshore.com for the latest standings.

Awards are based on highest accumulated pari-mutuel payout total (bankroll) regardless of whether the player is "active" or "eliminated."

The participant with the highest accumulated pari-mutuel payout total (bankroll) at the end of the CHALLENGE (Monday, September 2, 2024) will be declared the GRAND PRIZE winner.

Prizes for 2nd and 3rd third highest bankrolls will be awarded as well as BONUS PRIZES to the participant selecting the most WINNERS (first-place finishers) and the player with the HIGHEST WEEKLY BANKROLL (Friday through Sunday) during the CHALLENGE season.

Players need not be "active" to earn an award.

In the event of a tie for the highest accumulated pari-mutuel total (bankroll), the player selecting the most first-place finishers will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie in the “MOST WINNERS” category, the player with the highest accumulated pari-mutuel total will be declared the winner. In the unlikely event of a tie in the “MOST WINNERS” category, also achieving a tie in the highest accumulated pari-mutuel total, a random drawing will be held to determine the winner.

In the event of a tie in the “HIGHEST WEEKLY BANKROLL” category, the player with the most winners that week will be declared the winner. In the unlikely event of a tie for most winners in the “HIGHEST WEEKLY BANKROLL” category, a random drawing will be held to determine the winner.

Players may access a daily leader board listing each participant’s current standings and race selections post “selection times.”

Winners will be notified via email.
