i went to monmouth for the first time in a year. I went to window 532 to get some tips on 1 to 9 horses with money back specials from the old grumpy guy thats there.

netsfan3 Those days of getting FREE GUIDANCE at window 532 ended at the end of 2017. I'm guessing my big fat SENIOR FREEZE PROPERTY TAX REFUND CHECK IS DUE SOON. At least my wife and kids hope it is soon. #5 barn holder should romp in the 7th at Monticello. But, I never am lucky with Andy Miller driving.

ohh ohh netsfan hit a bomb hes gaining on me waldo

netsfan3 You were robbed in the 3rd race. Paco interfered with the 6 twice in the stretch. It should have been 5-6-4. It was very obvious. The stewards didn't even take a look. My daughter nagged me to take her car to the mechanic. She claimed the car was hesitating on the highway. I test drove it a couple times and didn't find anything wrong. Mechanics didn't either. My wife's doctor also told her not to worry on Wednesday. MY OLD MAN USED TO SAY. "DON'T GO LOOKING FOR TROUBLE."

someone up there doesn't like me , my horse ran may 9th 2nd at penn. even though hes bred for distance he ran a great race in a 5 1/2 furlong race. I was optimistic on sending him long. so what does he do rear up and sticks his legs over the stall gate and gets hurt. I sent him home trying to rehab him but it looks 50/50. but my baby 17 months old looks like shes gonna be a good sprinter

Fuzzypants So sorry Howie hopefully he will be well in no time

anyone here know a half way decent trainer at parx that doesn't use juice or take a 20000 claimer and put him in a 5000 dollar race to win and the owner loses his horse? Also, will need a trainer at monmouth next season

Kmicko Ok. There is another young trainer who I met a few times at the sportsbook. He has a very low winning percentage but no juicing. Let me know if you want his name.

coming around the top of the stretch its howihuse 204th place and netsfan 812th. better go to your buzzard netsfan

netsfan3 I often play Grand River. But, WOODBINE now has all races Moneyback Specials on TVG Mondays in August. Getting moneyback for a win bet when your horse finished 2nd or 3rd is great for the bettor and for TVG. TVG makes out if the favorite wins and they only have to refund money on longshots. I do rather well on moneyback races.

i cant get in to make picks

netsfan3 Here's a horse running in the 3rd race at the BIG M this afternoon. # 4 RICH AND MISERABLE 2/1. He's probably a safe money back bet. HE'S NAMED FOR SO MANY PEOPLE I HAVE KNOWN IN THE LAST 73 YEARS.

why dont they have ABBREVIATED CARD JUST THE TOP 4 RACES AND START AT 7PM,730,8 AND 8:30 - feeling happy

netsfan3 Would be much wiser to run the first race at 11:30. Speed the races up. Move the 13th and 14th before the Haskell. Get everybody out a few minutes after 6 P.M. Normally, few remain after the big race. A LOT OF FOLKS WANT TO CATCH THE 7:09 TRAIN TO LINDEN.

    nets fan says Hi howihuse,

netsfan3 just replied to your comment.

    Message:

He held the 6 furlong turf record at Laurel for a number of years 1:08 and change. Also, ran a mile and a half race at Laurel in a similar time to Secretariat's Belmont. Don't know how much weight he was carrying that day. I know in those times he often toted a lot more than 126 pounds, while others ran with much less.

Fuzzypants New York 6 can't find a Laurel

everyone thinks monmouth should cancel except monmouth , reminds me of jaws, they don't want to tell the people a shark is on the lose because its the biggest weekend of the summer and they'll lose revenue.

100 degrees Saturday can't believe they'll let the horses run.

netsfan3 Actually, I exaggerated a bit. I pulled some of the large grass by hand. It was only about 82 at the time. We just had a downpour for about 25 minutes. We didn't even need the a/c today. The fans were good enough. Don't know if it poured like that down M.P. It is about 40 miles South on where I live. I usually do a bit of clean up yardwork around 6 A.M. before the sun is up. Only mow late at night for a short period of time. Most of my family dies of old age. One brother is 89. The other will be 75 on July 26th. We all married younger wives. None of us has had any major illness. Back ache, sinus problems, and my hearing is not great. But, that's about it.

    anyone else going?

netsfan3 Getting there is not the big problem. Getting out has always taken a long time. Getting to the Parkway North takes forever. Then the Parkway will be loaded if its 95 degrees on Saturday. A lot from North Jersey take the train. People have told me the special ticket for admission on the train is honored even on Haskell Day. The season pass is not, I believe.

going to the Haskell Saturday gonna take the train, trying to figure out what is the safest station to leave my car so its there when I get back.

Johnny B Angry Yeah, Saratoga does a good job as well. My only complaint would be concession stands are more expensive than most and that I'm not willing to spend $400-600 per night on a hotel. When we have gone we have stayed in Albany and make the 25 minute drive to the track.

Oaklawn is on my bucket list. Delaware is with traveling distance and I will get there someday.
