They couldn't attract more than 5 horses for the GIII $150,000 Monmouth Oaks on Saturday? 2 of the 5 are Jersey breds. The 5th race on the card?
Is this a favor to Servis?
It appears to be a free square for everyone in the contest.

Johnny B Angry Agreed. They did put blinkers on and it appears she may have responded.

Says the guy who quit THIS contest on the first weekend over the mistreatment of horses in racing.

You quit and declared you won't make a bet or pick until the sport does something about the welfare of horses. In a step in that direction, some of the top trainers come out with an open letter saying they are ready for change and you say its a PR stunt.

    Odd.

Johnny B Angry Even stranger than that, you still come here on a daily basis. Why are you still here?

You are either still following the sport and contributing to nothing changing.
OR you are feeding your need to be an argumentative, antagonistic, belligerent contrarian. Either way, its sad.

Beware of those with flexible principles.

Wow. Monmouth Park found an acorn.

meanmistermustard It amazes me how some on this site can take a line or sentence and make it the focus of their reply. TOTEally out of context of the entire post. We seem to be at an impasse with regards to what can and should be done. You stated you've seen things and refuse to say something because " you ain't no rat". My benign suggestion was not an attack, but merely a suggestion. Unlike yours. It seems to me that change must come from within. By comparison there's very little those on the outside can do. Though my backstretch experience pales to yours I've seen enough in regards to the treatment of cheaper horses as compared to well bred or consistent earners. Simply stated. Anyone in any endeavor that they love and or make their living at, can effect change more readily than those on the outside. Calling me out for speaking on this issue due to a comparative lack of experience mimmicks other situations on this site and in our country where some are chastised for their opinion by those who know better as in this case, or those who think they know better which is much more prevalent.

They won’t be using that “past performances were posted 30 hours before the races” excuse this Friday now will they.

Hope that server stays dry with all the rain from yesterday and tonight.

How was the 10 Gadget Man not declared a non-starter in the 9th?!? Assistant starter still had a hold of him after they broke! He spotted the field 8-10 lengths and still finished 3rd.
What is going on at this f-ing track this meet. What a shit show.

For those of you in NJ, do you know of another outlet I can use for betting on horse races other than TVG/NJBets? I tired of this AWD in too many ways to list here. I need another option. And ideas? Thanks.

I had a kooky thing happen today playing the Monmouth card.

I hit the Jersey Shore 6 but in the 10th and penultimate race, one of my horses (the favorite) broke through the gate and took off around the track. They scratched him and everyone that had the horse got the post time favorite as a replacement. I already had that horse as well.

netsfan3 I used to play .20 cents straight on it when I was working and give the ticket to a pretty girl for free. Had 5 a couple times. Of course, the 1 I didn't have was like a horse you had to all in that race. The 5 were figure horses.

It's good to see Monmouth Park is back on the path to the doing the right thing. They have scratched Marcus Vitali's horses and honored Delaware Park's 1 year suspension of the trainer after he interfered with an investigation. He allegedly took a vial from a refrigerator and fled with it.

Fuzzypants Did u read where later they said it was a couple of joints, yet package was never brought back lol

I read online at Asbury Park Press that “Monmouth Park had planned an 11-race card on Sunday, including the $75,000 Spruce Fir, will be run in its entirety as drawn on Friday, July 26.”

So if you handicapped the races and the administrator chooses the same races, you’re ahead of the curve for Friday.

I may be breaking news here:

We have a sponsored race tomorrow for my dad that passed in 2003. They called my sister tonight to let us know racing will be cancelled tomorrow.

These M-fers got everyone in the fucking door then cancelled half the races and postponed the other half until 6pm. “Drink our liquor and eat our food while we fuck you. Oh, and say thank you for the hat!”

They’re locked in, cornered and committed to running races on Sunday, no? Otherwise, if they cancel Sunday we will all know for sure it was about the money and not the safety of the equine athletes. We’ll see...

Hahaha...so now TVG hosts on site at Monmouth, Tom Cassidy and Caton Bredar, have signed off for the day just after the 4th race. “There’s a lot to do for tomorrow, see you then.” Hahaha. In other words, “holy shit is it hot out here. Too hot for us to do what we always do and that is be trackside to broadcast”.

KatiesDaDa I guess Caton was having a bad hair day. Wusses.
